We’ve seen a lot of power-grabbing by the Obama regime in the past three years. There’s Obamacare, the Dodd-Frank debacle, and the theft of the American auto industry. He’s been a busy little bee since he was inaugurated in 2009.
And of course there’s the golf. And the expensive Alice in Wonderland parties. And the trips to Hawaii. And the apology tour. And the list goes on.
But over the past few weeks it seems things have sped up just a bit for Barry and the Liberal Bunch. There appears to be some level of urgency to get some specific things done. Evidence?
Well, let’s talk first about the non-recess recess appointment. The purpose of those appointments, aside from creating a conflict with Congress, was to get some key posts filled in the new Financial Oversight department. The way that Dodd-Frank was written, the department can’t fully function without a director. Obama wanted to have his very liberal, very anti-business buddy Dick Cordry appointed to the inaccurately named “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau”. But the Senate, the Democrat-run Senate, blocked Obama’s appointment.
Those of you who have spent time in the Constitution (i.e. not Mitt Romney) will recognize that the Senate has the power of “advice and consent” on Presidential appointees. This prevents a President from abusing his authority to appoint cabinet members, judges, and other people who have power over the populace but are not directly accountable to the people. The Senate acts as the “check and balance”, and acts on behalf of the governed.
So Obama clearly felt that his ability to get his buddy Dick through the Senate gauntlet was limited. Thus he waited until the planned holiday recess. But DRAT, he was tricked by both parties who have employed a trick made popular by Dirty Harry Reid back in the “W” days, the “pro forma” session. The Senate is technically in session because the Senate “meets” every three days. Obama has even recognized this as an “in session” state because he signed the extension of the unemployment welfare bill that was “passed” by the Senate during one such pro forma session.
So why the rush? Why is Obama in such a hurry to implement his plan to rape the US Military? Why is he pushing through these appointments despite the potential for Judicial over ride? Why is he giving away the secrets of the US missile systems to our enemies?
Well, why are Obama staffers bailing almost weekly? Likely the very same reason.
Obama hears footsteps.
To put it another way, the clock is ticking. It is the eleventh hour. His term has nearly expired. He’s almost a stiff. His term is almost up and his chances of re-election decline daily. We may well be witnessing the death throes of the Obama Regime.
Barry, knowing he will have little time after 2012 to implement the remainder of his destructive agenda, has decided to step on the gas and get things done now. Damn the election, and the will of The People, full speed down the liberal toilet. I sense the first inkling of a bit of panic on the part of Obama.
More proof? Why do you think he wants Romney in the White House in his place? Because Romney is the least likely to repeal Obama’s beloved Obamacare. After all, Obama’s plan is admittedly built on the concepts implemented by Romney whilst he was governor of Massachusetts. He’s telling us he fears Romney so that “moderates” who have turned against Obama will push for Romney. Romney will have a hard time, politically, eliminating a program that is based on his own Romneycare.
Hey, if I’m wrong, nothing happens. But, if I am right, you can expect things to get more frantic as Obama attempts to stretch the limits of his authority well beyond their boundaries and force the remainder of his agenda down America’s throat. His thought process is clear. The more he gets done, the longer it will take to undo, and maybe some of it will stick. He can then claim victory over America, the only nation he’s really ever hated.
The next few weeks will tell.
