The Campaign Continues

Brushfire of Freedom

Ram Rants

So Barry has officially announced that he wants to continue his planned destruction of our nation.  Those of you from Berkley know this as “Hope and Change”.  The professional campaigner has agreed to continue his campaign until 2016.  Heaven help us.

Since Barry hit the floor in the Oval Office, we’ve seen unemployment double, spending explode, gas prices skyrocket, the deficit erupt, 40 years of darkness, dogs and cats, living together, MASS HYSTERIA! Ok, maybe not so much that last part.

Reality check for the media, this schmuck has never stopped his campaign, so this announcement, a surprise to absolutely no one, is not really news.  Yet, as if on cue, the state-run media has begun trumpeting the second campaign of “Barack the Anointed”.  If there was ever a question about the sycophantic nature of the old-line media, one need only look at some of the headlines from this week.

So has he freshened up the logo?  Not really.  Oh, he added the 2012 to help his apostles know when they were supposed to vote.  It is unlikely that many of them would understand when to go to the polls without some type of guidance from their Dear Leader.

Has he changed his message?  Well no, not really.  He’s still complaining about how bad things were, ignoring the fact that prior to his two plus years in office he was in the US Senate.  Don’t pay any attention to the man behind the presidential curtain, Barry wants you to vote against Bush.

An aside, you can vote against Bush policies this coming election, but you’ll have to vote against Obama.  Just a note for all those who insisted on voting against Bush policies in the last election.

In reality, if the GOP can put forward a halfway decent candidate who does not represent the “old guard” but actually represents the people, they should be able to waltz into the White House.

Ok, that’s a lot to ask, I know, but hey, a guy can dream, right?

So what would the platform against Obama be?  If you were a candidate, what might be the focus of your platform?  Well, for fun, a candidate could say they were less like Bush than Obama.  Another point might be the intent to cut spending, focus on jobs, focus on the economy, or support small business.  These are all things Barry has claimed he would do, but he’s never really gotten to that.  What with Libya and all that.  What’s a guy supposed to do? I mean, besides his job.

You could promise to close Gitmo.

You could complain about how the world hates us because of the policies of the Obama administration, pointing to Egypt, Libya, Syria, etc.  You could note that Obama’s aggression in Libya will do nothing but create more terrorists who will want to destroy America.  You could talk about his unilateral military action in Libya, without the input of Congress, an impeachable offense according to Joe Biden.

You could run on the economy, the deficit, the corruption in Congress (Reid, Rangel, Pelosi, etc.).  You could run on the need to get out the old guard and put in some new blood, since Barry is now no longer a “fresh face” in government.

You could run on transparency.  Just showing your birth certificate on national TV makes you more transparent than Barry.

You could run on improvements in healthcare, pointing to the over 1,000 (and climbing) waivers that have been granted since Obamacare became law.  You could in conjunction run on financial reform since Dodd-Frank is already causing problems with the financial system.

The reality is, you could run on the 2008 Obama platform.

Or, you could note that, despite his grand promises, despite his “Hope and Change”, Obama has, for four years, accomplished absolutely nothing.  He’s forced some bad law through a Congress stacked with members of his party (note, he had to FORCE).

He’s not resolved global warming.

He’s not brought peace to the Middle East.  In fact, the turmoil there is greater than during the preceding eight years.  He’s not cut the deficit, decreased unemployment, improved the economy, or provided health care for the 40 million uninsured.

He has not fixed immigration, healed wounds with old enemies, improved our standing in the global community, cleaned up Congress, lowered the seas, or even picked the right teams in his NCAA bracket.

And, Gitmo is still open.

2012 will be an interesting campaign.
