We are well into 2011. January has given way to February, winter snows have begun melting (finally), and temps are creeping above freezing, for the first time in months in some places.
In case you haven’t noticed, Barry has already begun to campaign. He’s begun his “shift to the right”, and the media has dutifully placed him next to Ronald Reagan on various magazine covers and news stories. His speeches are attempts to echo what he believes the people want to hear. He talks of reducing the deficit (that he ballooned), creating jobs (that he cost the country), and reducing government regulation (that he put in place). His speeches are more frequent, and more focused on campaign talking points. It is the next countdown, and Barry has started the clock.
It is time for us to pull together once again and begin building the case to remove Barry and his liberal cohorts from our government. It is time to attend tea parties, attend the local caucuses, get involved in the voting and campaign process. People will begin this summer to solidify their roles as candidates, supporters, and team members for both Democrat and Republican campaigns.
It is time to begin setting the planks of the platform. Many we already know; smaller government, lower taxes, reduce the deficit, more transparent legislative processes. Others may not yet be on the front page. It is time we move them from ideas to ideals that can become rallying points for our cause. It can not be “Barry must go”. That is a moronic as the left’s persistent attacks on Bush. It is also counterproductive, negative, and frankly more likely to energize the opposition, including Barry’s supporters in the State Run Media. Keep in mind how much they have invested in his ongoing success. Our message must be cohesive, concise, and focused on future success. Yes, Obamacare must go. Yes, bailouts and stimulus must end. Yes, the deficit must be reduced. But we must put forward what will take the place of Obamacare. We must discuss what will happen to companies when bailouts end, how these events will impact our national economy and how, when business fails, it actually can be helpful to Americans.
The next six months will be the proving ground for proposals, the test for trial balloons, and the framework for our 2012 foundation. If “We the People” are to be heard, it is time to raise our voices, lift our signs, and begin once again to remind those in Washington; this is OUR country, it is OUR government, and we will decide our future. We will not be dictated, coerced, marginalized, or ignored. Gone are the days of “passing it to find out what is in it”. Gone are the days of free spending, higher taxes, and more regulation. It is time now to define what this nation will be beginning in January 2013.
If you do not know where to go to get involved, contact your local party representative. Contact your congressperson. Contact your representative, your district judge, or anyone you know who has been involved. Go to the web, search for opportunities, find something you can do, and get your ideas out in front of the decision makers and policy wonks. Don’t wait until 2012, you know Barry is not. He has started his campaign, and the next countdown has begun. Now is the time to set the foundation for the new America, one that harkens back to the days of our Founders, honors the blood of our soldiers, and brings us once again to the forefront of international policy and economies. Now is the time to make this nation the shining example of freedom it was meant to be and to shed the liberal ideals that have tarnished her cloak these past few years. Now is the time to begin the work, because you know the liberals already have a plan.
