This will not be a long message. The title of my blog tends to indicate a level of anger or animosity that I don’t think is appropriate for this particular week, nor this particular subject.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. It is a national holiday established, “...to express thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation to God, family and friends for which all have been blessed of material possessions and relationships.”
Let that sink in for a moment. This is a national holiday, celebrated primarily in the US and Canada. It is an expression of gratitude to God, family, and friends. We all have family, and many have friends over for turkey and dressing. Is there someone we’ve forgotten?
We live in the greatest nation on earth. We are all endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, each one worthy of perpetual thanks to that same Creator. This year, as you set the table, welcome your family and friends, and enumerate the many blessings which have been bestowed on each of us, you should keep in mind the Creator. Make certain He is part of the celebration. Far too often, it is not the case.
May God bless you and yours this holiday. Thanks to Him, and may God continue to bless America.
