It’s been a week now since the Democrats were handed one of the most devastating political defeats “since the Great Depression.” Hundreds of millions of dollars were spent, and that excludes the President’s trip to India. Why
if I didn’t know better, I would think I saw his tail tucked as he boarded Air Force One.
There’s been a great deal of discussion regarding the Republican losses and the Democrat wins. But when you take the final tally, there’s little question that the big winner of this election was...
America.
For the past 21 months, this country has been on a frightening lurch to the left, bringing us ever closer to becoming a full Socialist state. We have socialized medicine and have car executives that follow Obama’s orders. There’s trillions in debt, more every day, and tax dollars spent on ridiculous projects like studies of the sex habits of stoned monkeys. And no, that is not video of the John Stewart rally.
The biggest concern raised by Barry and the bunch is around their agenda. How will they ever be able to move it all forward in the next two years? Answer, they won’t, or they better not. No, Republicans did not win control of the Senate. Most pundits did not think they would. The gloriously looney Harry Reid will, for the next two years anyway, hold the gavel in that chamber. This is not to say that the GOP lacks power this coming Congressional session. Far from it. Here’s a bit of summary.
The House: The GOP now owns control. There will be a new Speaker (most likely Boehner). Nancy Pelosi, nose still posted at High Arrogance, will be demoted to a roll as minority leader, and that’s if her own party doesn’t throw her out. A note to those who went to Berkley, the House is where all fiscal bills begin. The House holds the purse strings. It is the House, the chamber dedicated to representing The People, where the people’s money is assigned, or refused, for various projects. In other words, America has its checkbook back, at least if the GOP is true to its word.
The Senate: The GOP took six (or more) seats from Dems. So, you might recall in the past when Dems wanted to shove something down our throats, they would go to RINO’s like Olympia Snow and buy them off with concessions and trinkets. This would give Dems the one or two additional votes needed to break the filibuster, and give us a socialist health care system that will take years to undo. Now, with six more than the 41 needed to hold the filibuster, the traitors can turn and the country can remain safe. The GOP accomplished this feat despite the fact that they had more seats to defend than Dems. In other words, Dems should have gained the 60+ needed to break the GOP filibuster, just based on averages and trends. Instead, Harry will preside over a virtual deadlock, at least as long as he keeps trying to ruin this nation.
The States: Historical gains were made by Conservatives in many states. North Carolina will begin the year with a Republican state congress for the first time in more than a century. The GOP has control of governorships in more than half of the states, something we’ve not seen in decades. The shift to the right was so rapid, and so clear, that the infamous “New England Blue” was purple for about 10 seconds. Michigan, nearly destroyed by more than a decade of liberal rule, is safely in the hands of a GOP that plans to revitalize the state and bring back fiscal responsibility.
What did Democrats win? California (SHOCK!), New York (OH NO!) and a few toss-up Senate seats. Harry Reid won, but you can buy a lot of votes with hot dogs and SEIU money. This actually is a plus for America, as we won’t have to deal with Chuckie Schumer sitting in the Senate Majority seat for two years.
In reality, this was a major spanking for Dems, and Barry knows it, even if he won’t acknowledge it. But don’t expect them to change. They are already spinning, twisting, and rationalizing their losses. The only person not yet blamed for the Dem Debacle is (surprisingly) George W. Bush. This has not stopped the liberals from making demands of the GOP. As early as last Wednesday the instructed GOP leaders that they had best not get in the way of Obama’s agenda.
When the dust settles, we see the GOP with a massive victory. We see them with a mandate from the people, to stop the socialist agenda of Obama and his lackeys. We expect them to use every trick in the book, every legal method, to begin to reverse the damage done, and return this country to her status as the shining beacon of liberty for the world. Because we The People have this opportunity, because we have the House, because we control the filibuster in the Senate, and because we have the majority of states, we, The People, are the winners of the mid-term elections. What will we do in the coming two years?
