Brushfire of Freedom

Halloween has just passed, and the elections of 2010 are behind us. That can only mean that we are now in the most frightening part of the year.
‘Tis the Season of the Lame Duck.
One of the interesting little quirks about our government is that elections mean things, but not necessarily right away. It takes time to move from your home state to Washington D.C., set up your staff, establish a local residence, and generally get things in order so you can get to work. The Founders thought about this and set things up so that incoming Congressmen, and now Congresswomen, would have some time to get their house in order before they got down to the business of the nation’s business. The end result of this planning is a small window of time when those who are leaving office find themselves with little to lose with regard to their role as representatives, and Congress becomes something of a “Losers Gone Wild” party. This is also known as the “lame duck” Congress, referring of course to the fact that this Congress is near its demise.
This is of particular interest this year because some would say that certain aspects of Obama’s agenda never made it through the Democrat-controlled Congress because Democrats feared for their political lives. This fact was further reenforced by the fact that very few Democrats ran on any of the aspects of Obama’s agenda that they actually passed. In fact, some Democrats told Barry to “shove it” and took such a violent tack to the right that few in their party knew who they were. This may have saved a few Democrats, but the reality is that the GOP now has enough power to do things they’ve been accused of for the past two years, namely blocking the socialist agenda of Obama and his liberal-looney faction.
But that power will not be established until January 2011, leaving just a few short weeks of time when Pelosi and Reid will still have full control of Congress, and nothing to lose. Cue the scary music.
Here’s what this means for you and me. Cap and Trade is now a real potential. They need only garner enough votes from the losers who have nothing more to lose, and that nightmare for America will be on Barry’s desk for signature. You will have the pleasure of ballooning energy costs, expanding unemployment, and a continued decline in the US economy. All in the name of a hoax created so GE can make a few extra bucks for new lightbulbs.
Card check? Check. Here it comes, at the behest of the unions who have spent millions in a losing battle to retain control of this country, and have a limited time to reap any returns on their dollars. You may want to pick out which union you want to join, and pay dues into, to avoid the rush. You’ll be in one before long, whether you wanted or not. Much like the military draft, it’s always best that you choose the service you wish to enter. Otherwise you’ll end up on the front line.
They will shore up Obamacare in an effort to prevent the multiple lawsuits and inevitable GOP effort from destroying their “legacy”. This particular monstrosity is in real jeopardy, and the leaving libs will want to pass a few quick bills in an effort to prevent the pending action from doing any real damage. And if you’ve wondered why the GOP has been hesitant to give away too much about their strategy regarding Obamacare, it was in part to prevent Harry and Nancy from devising too many defense strategies.
Amnesty for criminal immigrants? Si. Tell them all that they will be able to vote in the 2012 election and eliminate the enemies of their beloved Obama. Knowing the level of fraud that was documented in this past election, they may be able to vote more than once. Let them know that health care, a free education, and all the benefits of this great nation are coming their way, and at no real cost other than their unending support of their socialist leader, B. Hussein Obama.
You can count on another stimulus. The Dems did not have enough left over from the last one to buy the 2010 election, so they’ll need a bit more in the slush fund for 2012. Plus I think Michelle needs another shopping trip to Paris, don’t you? And some more White House parties for potential 2012 donors?
Tax increases? Hell yes. Big enough to crush the economy so Dems will have something to pin on the GOP in 2012. They need something to set up as a plank in the next election, and a failing economy (even though they created it) is always good for a few seats.
If you are not frightened at this point, you should be. There is little the GOP will be able to do until January, and the more Dems can push through, the more will be required to repair the damage. Losing Dems will be like the little kid who, having lost the football game, throws a fit and stamps around, breaking everything in his path. Expect nothing less from these scorned liberal losers, and they have only a few weeks left.
