It Takes Time

Brushfire of Freedom

Ram Rants

Our president recently reminded us that, “It took time to free the slaves.”  First, thanks for that insight, Mr. President.  I’m relatively certain that most children educated in today’s public schools actually did not know this fact.  You can be most certain that no one who graduated from Berkley knew, though their favorite president (Lincoln, a Republican) played a large part in the process.  It also takes time to brew a good beer, at least according to the commercials on TV, so perhaps we can state that it takes time to do a lot of things.

It took time for you to make that speech.

It took time for someone to write that speech, and more time for someone to load it onto your teleprompter so you could deliver that speech.  It took time to found and create this nation.  It took time to build it into a world power, and to establish the US economy as the driving force in the global economy.  It took time to write this blog.

Perhaps next time you and your minions in Congress try to rush some piece of legislation through the process without reading it, they will remember your statement.  But I digress.

It would do well for those of us on the Conservative side of the political spectrum to remember Obama’s comments. The election is less than a month away, and no matter the size of the Democrat losses, you can be assured that this will not be the end of the Obama regime, at least not yet.  It takes time to take back a nation from despotic rulers.  It takes time to free an economy that is over-burdened by regulation and taxation.  It takes time to cleanse the Congress of the corruption that has defined the Democrat party for the past two decades.

It will take time to repeal Obamacare.

It will take time to repair the damage that resulted from TARP and the massive stimulus.  It will take time to re-establish the Bush tax cuts, and re-start the economy down the path of prosperity.

It will take time to repair the damage to our country that Democrats will deal in the last two months of their terms.  You see, our friends on the left are not done with us, not by far.  If you believe that they will take the beating they are destined to receive and not trade us blow for blow, you have not listened to Barry and his buddies very much.  Do not expect the liberals to charge back to Congress after their losses in November with their tail between their legs and their heads hung low.  You will not hear Nancy and Harry say, “The People have spoken, we finally see the light, we will change our ways.”  If that is your expectation, I have some beach front property in Arizona I’d like to discuss.

Card check will be pushed and possibly passed.  Cap and Trade will be put up and voted on, and most likely pass, at least in the House.  You can expect other liberal gems to rush to the forefront of the Congressional schedules, and take very little time to make it to Obama’s desk for a quick signature.  It will not take much time, only two months or so, for Dems to push through every item they have tabled in an effort to save the election.  They will take very little time, and inflict as much of their agenda on this country as they can.  They will push, shove, cajole, demand, march, scream, and shake every person they can to do whatever they can before they leave in January.  All of this will need to be addressed, and it will take time.

It may well take years to undo what liberals have done.  That warning was delivered prior to the election of the Obama regime.  Keep in mind he still has his Czars to do his bidding, and he is the President.  It may be well past 2012 before we can begin to see the resurrection of the America we all knew and love.  It takes time, Barry, we agree.  Expect us to be very, very, very patient.
