Hello all,
Bush played golf 24 times in 8 years. Thats 3 times per year, and he was thoroughly criticized by the press for playing too much.
However, in just a bit over a year, Obama has played golf 32 times.
Wow! Doesn't Obama have an amazing laser-like focus on jobs and the economy?
Seriously though, have you seen the grief he is getting from MSNBC's Matthews and Olberman for fiddling while Rome burns?
Me either.
And with that fresh in your mind, here is an anecdote for you.
In addition to having a job, I own a business. Well, me and Mrs. Irritable Pundit own a business in any event. Ok, me, Mrs IP, and a bank, but thats beside the point. Mrs. IP was on the phone this evening, talking about how things were going (cue the consultants shouting that "Flat revenue is the new growth!") and she made an observation that floored me.
1) At the beginning of the Obama regime, as the economy cratered, we heard many people tell us why they couldn't afford A, B, or C. Many of them had just lost their jobs.
2) A couple of months back, we started hearing that maybe, MAYBE, things were looking up. Some of them had gone back to school (and living off loans) due to lack of jobs, but others were at least getting part-time work. That was nice.
3) But very recently we have started hearing, "I've been laid-off", again from our clients.
I walked away and realized that, as in so many things, she was right. Layoffs are coming back again. And isn't the timing interesting? It started almost immediately after Obamacare passed, and only seems to have picked up steam since the Democrats started making noise about increased intervention into the financial markets.
It seems that every time the Democrats do a single thing, fifty thousand people lose their jobs.
So, with that understood, For mercy's (and our children's) sake... someone, please,
...send the Democrats some balls.
