I Thought the Campaign Was Over?

 Brushfire of Freedom

The Conservative Cowboy

As I sat and listened to the State of the Union address given this evening, yes I do watch what the president has to say, even though I do not agree.  It is very simple what I heard this evening and that was more of the same from the campaign in 2008.  I heard BHO blame Bush for the deficit, yes he is still doing that.  I heard that the middle class needs help, that he will not increase taxes on anyone that makes over $200,000 per year.  I am not going to sit here and summarize everything that BHO said you can watch the speech on you tube or any of the other various websites that are out there, what I want to do is point out some of the bulls*^t that I heard in the State of the Union.

I am not going to press the blame bush issue any farther, except for the fact that he has been in office for a year and has made our deficit worse, much worse.  What I really want to point out is how many things that he wants to accomplish, still push trough healthcare reform even though it is pretty clear that the American people do not want that reform.  He talked about transparency in the government meaning pushing bills through with weekend and holiday votes, as well as adding 300 pages to a bill in closed door sessions and then forcing a vote before anyone could read the over 2,000 total pages of that bill.

So basically I heard a bunch of paradoxical phrases coming from the mouth of our Commander in Chief, phrases that would be better aimed at the man in the mirror.  Sorry for the cheesy Michael Jackson reference but even I enjoy listening to the King of Pop.  In watching last night I even felt myself nodding to certain things that BHO was saying, until of course I realized that all I was hearing was words, words that would never be followed up with actions.

Most of what was said in the State of the Union sounded good, what I was missing was the how; I mean as an executive you must have a plan to put your brilliant ideas into fruition.  As we have seen the last year BHO doesn’t have a plan.  He is running this country on promises and ideals that he has no clue how to implement, he has no clue because he doesn’t have any experience.

As you can guess by the title of this post is that all we are hearing from the Executive Branch of the government is the same s*^t that we heard on the campaign trail and the same s*^t that we have been hearing for over a year.  Forgive my language but I really can’t think of any other way to put what is coming out of Washington these days; s*^t that is changing the very foundation of this country in order to fit in with the rest of the world.  I am sorry but I love this country because we are different, we are the greatest country in the world because we are different, we are the leaders in innovation because we are different.  Another point that I thought was a little ironic in tonight’s address was that BHO want to emphasize innovation, but at the same time punishing those innovators by raising their taxes.

I was truly hoping that the election results from Massachusetts would have humbled our President…I know the eternal optimist.

I wasn't going to comment as this post was written a while ago, but I found myself asking a lot of questions when I read it. I think it is important to find the blogs that you read regularly and stay involved in the discussion in a regular, relevant and timely manner. So I'll be back and see whether you'll be answering :o).
