Brushfire of Freedom
The Conservative Cowboy
I have been absolutely fascinated by the recent events of our Commander in Chief. His trips to lobby for the Olympics, his recent appearances on every late night TV show, and of course his trips to congress every other week to tell them what they are doing wrong.
I have come to the conclusion that the president is clinging to the one skill that he has in his possession. He might be one of the best PR spokesmen that I have ever seen. He is using this skill to cover up his huge executive flaws. Of course it helps that he can play the race card, and MSM is of course blinded by that fact. Everyone that disagrees with BHO is not a racist. I feel like I am taking crazy pills when I ask the people that still love Obama what he has actually done. They don’t have an answer but he is still a good president. I am sorry but I am going to play the BS card because that very simply put is what we are dealing with in the government today, a big pile of BS.
Anyways back to the point. Can anyone please educate me on the reason that our President needs to fly to another country just to go to an Olympic meeting, and try to influence that committee to bring the Olympics to his home state? I really don’t understand why people don’t have a problem with this. I think that our country is facing much bigger issues than an Olympic ceremony that is 6 years in the future. I remember how George W. Bush was crucified on the news networks for his delay in reaction to September 11th. “Presidents have a job to do” they said, there are more important things on his plate than story time a local school. So where are the same comments now in the media?
On to the television appearances; I have seen Obama’s face far more than I ever did during his campaign, I don’t think that he is ever going to realize that the campaign is over. You have the presidency now do something with it. The office of the presidency is not a popularity contest. If he would focus half of his PR efforts into his plans for policy change maybe we would have some ideas that the American public could swallow. I say swallow for the simple fact that I would never expect him to come up with a good idea; but maybe he could come up with something that is at least practical. Sorry about that I think that I forgot who I was talking about for a second, practical is not even a word in his vocabulary.
So far there is one consistent theme throughout this entire presidency. Obama is good at covering up his many shortcomings. To me he is a dirty salesman, full of shit, but can sell anything, doesn’t care about what happens after the sale, because he has already gotten his end of the deal. Now if we contrast that with a president, consequences should be a big driving force to the policies that are instituted. We are running the country with no feasible plan for the future, we are instituting polices that are destined to fail.
My only hope is that we can keep the collateral damage to a minimum until we can vote him out and try to fix the mess that will be the US after BHO is gone. In order to help keep the damage to a minimum it will start in 2010 and I hope that we can learn from the mistakes of 2008.
