Brushfire of Freedom
The Irritable Pundit
Companies try amazing things to get ahead, wholly counting on your unwillingness to make major waves.
Take vacation for instance. Well wait, you can't. You see things are really busy, with the layoffs and everyone trying to carry the load of 2 people. So, all vacations are pretty much cancelled, unofficially of course. But you know that "now isn't the time", right? By the way, since we changed the way you accrue vacation, (with a maximum number of hours possible) you are no longer accruing vacation days at all. You are maxed out. What can you do? Funny isn't it? You have to take a week off in order to earn more vacation. But as we previously specified, you can't "really" afford to take the time off, can you? At least that's how it is sold in many places. Oddly enough those same companies talk about the importance of work/life balance. Hypocrites, one and all. It is enough to make a pundit a bit irritable, wouldn't you say?
But who actually bucks the trend? Hmmmm? Who tells them to go hammer silicate structures?
Not many sadly. It's not too dissimilar from the complete double-talk in Washington. Things are tough, so we are taking extraordinary action. And since we are taking extraordinary actions, we have to understand that things will be tough. We are out of money and deep in debt, so we will keep spending more and more money until we are out of debt!
Who buys this nonsense? We don't of course, but who falls for it on the left side of the spectrum?
No one really. Half know better, but don't care. It'll be their children yet unborn who pay for it and that's fine with those self-centered cretins. The other half just figure they can cow others into not making waves and take advantage of the crisis to get their programs in. Adults will come along and fix it later after all. They are counting on your unwillingness to make major waves.
But who actually bucks the trend? Hmmmm? Who tells them to go force compress the silicon dioxide?
We do. Or at least we should. It isn't enough to have a tea party, it needs to be a daily does of caffeine.
So tell Washington, dear friends, to go pound sand. Make big waves everywhere. Tell the folks around the water cooler at work, how Obama's plans are complete nonsense. That it is "not OK". I believe you will be stunned by how many people agree with you. How many people are grateful someone, somewhere had the courage to say it. That they thought they were alone up till now! Lord knows the media has worked their collective butts off to convince everyone of that. So tell them all about it, tomorrow at work!
I can't of course. Your one and only IP, is on vacation.
