The warning bells and klaxons have been ringing for quite some time now. Socialism is on the march in the US, in the guise of our President, his minions in CONgress, and his pets in the State Run Media. The concerns are focused on tax increases, on runaway government spending, and on an expansion of government power not seen since FDR. We only need take a short walk into the future to see the potential (and probable) outcome of the plans of the B. Hussein administration.
We’ll start with spending. The impact of excessive government spending is an excessive government debt. Our government has failed many times to pass regulations regarding their budget practices, allowing them to spend insane amounts of our tax dollars on pet projects like the Robert C. Byrd public library and various other ridiculous monuments to idiocy across this nation. As an example, the $700 billion TARP bill is already being estimated by the CBO to cost around $2.9 trillion. For those of you who went to public school, that is over four times the original budget. If even half of that estimate is correct, we will spend $1.4 trillion dollars to bail out Chrysler (headed for bankruptcy anyway) GM (headed for bankruptcy anyway), AIG, (oh, you get the point), and others. We will spend $1.4 trillion dollars in a failing effort. In other words, we will waste $1.4 trillion dollars. Our grandchildren will be $63,000 in debt on the day of their birth.
In exchange for this failure, we the people will receive ownership in financial firms, car companies, and banks. Well, we will not receive ownership. The government will receive ownership on our behalf. In the near future we will have state run car companies, banks, and mortgage firms to go along with the state run media. Nancy Pelosi will be designing your new car. Harry Reid will be securing your mortgage. Barney Frank will determine how much of the interest you have “earned” will be taxed and returned to the government (recent legislation puts that number at 90%). The same people who failed to “bail out” ailing banks and car companies will be running those car companies as well as they run AmTrak.
Let’s not forget the other big agenda items. Once they pass legislation already in Congress, you will be able to go to state run medical facilities, to get state run health care, from state employees who can not be fired or fined for their failures. The state run media will report on the excellent care from the state run hospitals, while ignoring the lines of people waiting for healthcare. If you find this hard to believe, you only need to read Pravda from the 70’s and 80’s, reporting on the glorious successes in the USSR while people stood in line to buy toilet paper. This is the ‘fast track” that Barry, Harry, and Nancy have put us on, the fast track to soup lines and welfare. Then they will blame the failed policies of the past, enact more of their devastating socialist agenda, and eventually convert this once great nation into the USSA.
The “cap-and-trade” tax being debated in Congress now will, according to Barry Himself, cause energy prices to skyrocket, forcing businesses to pay more, and possibly bring them to the brink of failure. In turn, the companies near failure will be deemed “too big to fail” and be “bailed out”, infusing more government money into the private sector. Government will have absconded with another major industry. Your tax dollars are being used as a leash that government is wielding to take control of the free market.
Still don’t believe it could be true? By the end of this year, if everything stays on its current track, Barry and Co. will have control or influence over the majority of American mortgages, American cars, American banks, American health care, and American industry. They will have “oversight” over a large portion of the US economy. This oversight has been used in the past to define transportation methods for corporate executives, determine tax levels on compensation, and even fire private citizens from their jobs so the government can install their own chosen leaders. Barry, Harry, and Nancy will have control and influence over the engine that drives this nation, our free market, and they will use that power to drive us into their vision of this nation.
Barry and his ilk have abandoned their posts as the stewards of this nation and have charted a course to create a “new nation” defined by their radical vision. They are disregarding their oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution and instead have decided to create a nation where they rule, and the people are their subjects. We have one hope in 2010, one chance to derail this fast train to destruction before the damage becomes irreparable. We can remove Harry and Nancy, two of the three cogs in this destructive engine. We must step up in 2010, we must take back our nation of, by, and for the people, before it becomes an “obamination”.
