Scary Implications

Brushfire of Freedom

The Conservative Cowboy

The Obama administration has supplied us with yet another act that is pushing our country towards a socialist future.  This weekend the government removed the CEO of GM.  As GM and Chrysler are floundering and asking Congress for more taxpayer money, the president has put his foot down and said that more concessions are needed by unions, creditors, and vendors.  The talks of a bankruptcy are getting louder and louder, and seem to be the new plan for GM and Chrysler.   In other words the government should have just stayed out of the mess and let them file last year when the company first encountered cash flow problems.

I am not going to beat a dead horse here but the latest step by Obama should scare people much more than our financial crisis.  Obama just forced a private sector employee to step down.  Let’s take a moment and let that sink in before I repeat it. Obama just forced a private sector employee to step down.  We already have the governments long reaching arms in our financial sector and now we are seeing the true motives behind all of this bailout money.  The government wants to have control over the private sector, and is using our money as a way to get their foot in the door.  Behind all of the well written speeches and emphasis that he is doing all of this for the American people is a policy that is changing the very foundations of this country.  He is stripping our freedoms from us right in front of our eyes and we are applauding him for it.  How far are we going to let this administration infiltrate our very liberties guaranteed by the constitution?

If we take a look at any dictator that has taken power with promises of evenly distributed wealth, equality, and government transparency we can see the same steps that are being taken by this administration.  The first thing to go is the media, and the People’s right to communicate, just take a look at the mainstream media, CNN, MSNBC to name a few.  The media should be completely unbiased and report the news, not their spin on the news.  The second step is to control business; with the government at the reins of the business sector they can control everything.  We have seen a small slice of this in the past with government subsidies and the growing power of the Federal Reserve Bank.  We have yet to see government control of this magnitude; a CEO was forced to step down by the government, not stock holders who run the company, but the government.  What is to say that GM will be the only company to endure such a tragedy?  How can any high level manager do their job with the threat of being removed by the government? We are not to that stage yet in this country but we are walking down that road.

I was a little unsure the past couple of months about why the government was so quick to act involving the bailout of the financial sector.  And now it is very clear to me about the motives of the administration and the controlling party in the house and senate.  They wanted to get as much control of the private sector before people could really digest what was going on behind the scenes.  They have made their message clear; they have no faith in the institutions that have been the very foundation of this great Nation.  The very same institutions created by our founders to avoid the tyranny that was being imposed on them by the King of England.  There were worries about creating a new government, the argument being that an elected legislature can infringe on liberties just as easily as a King.  Well ladies and gentlemen we have seen some of those fears ring true in the recent events of this government.  The role of our government should be to protect the sovereignty of our Nation; not to dictate their rule over every facet of our lives.  If our founders wanted that type of Government then we would have never fought for our independence.  We have a duty now to fight for our independence, not from another countries ruler, but from our own elected government.

I would hate to have my job in the hands of this President.
